Custom Keyboard Controllers
MicroTools has developed custom keyboard controller technology for automatically sending keystrokes. We can incorporate this technology into your application to allow you to:

  • Translate discrete inputs into PC scan codes

  • Automatically test your software keyboard interface

  • Use existing PC software on Kiosks without keyboards

  • Eliminate costly re-work to automatically circumvent BIOS problems in legacy systems (keyboard missing, dead CMOS battery)

  • We can modify our existing off-the-shelf designs for your custom keyboard needs.
    Custom Watchdog Timers
If your system runs 24/7 with unattended operation and needs a way to automatically reset in case of a software or hardware lock-up, MicroTools' WatchDog Timer Module does the trick. This module can be plugged into a standard PC slot. Connect it to either the Reset Switch or the PowerGood input to reset your system in the event of these annoying lock-ups. In addition, these modules can:

  • Provide Watchdog Reset times from .01 seconds to 10 minutes

  • Use our Power-On Hold-Off for up to 5 minutes for the system to boot before a Watchdog hit is required

  • Provide several methods for Watchdog restart, including an external discrete or a software function

  • Trigger a CTRL-ALT-DEL, a Hard Reset, or a Power Down Restart during a failure scenario

  • We can modify our existing off-the-shelf designs for your custom watchdog needs.

Give us a call at 1-800-651-6170 Ext 3# (outside the US 860-651-6170) or email us to discuss how we can help you improve your kiosk or embedded system.
